Volkswagen Up City Car

The VW Up is a fantastic city car available in three and five door models, and a choice of 2 petrol engines.

Volkswagen Up Running Costs

The Volkswagen Up offers a choice of two petrol engines: a 1 litre / 59bhp, or a 113bhp that’s reserved for GTI model.

If you need a car for driving in the city then the 59bhp will be sufficient. However if you want to go from 0-62mph in just 8.8sec you’ll want the GTI model.

Day-to-day running bills should be low, though, with an impressive official fuel economy of 51.4mpg and CO2 emissions of just 100g/km.

Volkswagen Up Interior

The Up offers class leading quality on the interior finish. Even the lower-end trim levels get attractive chrome trim surrounds and patterned dashboard plastics

Drivers will be pleased with the adjustable seat height, though no such option is available for the steering wheel.

It’s worth noting that the Up only has 2 seatbelts in the rear so you can only carry a maximum of 4 passengers.  If you plan to carry adults in the back on a regular basis, the Hyundai i10 is a roomier choice.

The square shaped boot is large enough for a few shopping bags or a couple of soft luggage cases.

Volkswagen Up Summary

The handling and interior finish on the VW Up is class leading.  Running costs are low as you would expect from a city car.  The Up would suit a family of 4 as it only has 2 seatbelts in the rear.
