Tesla Cybertruck Launch
Published 25 November 2019
Elon Musk unveiled the new and radical Tesla pick-up truck for the first time in LA, at an event in Tesla’s Hawthorne, California-based design studio on November 22 2019.
It picked up plenty of news coverage when the demo of the smash proof armor glass went wrong and 2 windows smashed. Musk later explained the windows were weakened from previous demos!
Resembling the Back to the Future car in it’s exterior design and finish the new Tesla Cybertruck is already taking deposits in the UK for production scheduled late 2021.
The body is made from Ultra-Hard 30X Cold-Rolled stainless-steel designed to resist dings and dents.
This new Tesla is ‘designed to have the utility of a truck and the performance of a sports car,’ according to Musk.
With a payload of nearly 1.6 tonnes fits in a covered load bed of 1.9 metres – and the steeply raked cover means your cargo will be out of sight of roaming eyes.
The interior of the Cybertruck has space for six adults, with three sitting abreast in each of the two rows of seats. The cabin is minimalist (typical of Tesla) with a futuristic looking steering wheel.
The powerful drivetrain and low center of gravity provides extraordinary traction control and torque—enabling acceleration from 0-60 mph in as little as 2.9 seconds and up to 500 miles of range.
