Car Leasing Breakdown Cover explained
Car lease mechanical breakdown insurance
Breakdown cover can be incredibly valuable, as it’s a great way to avoid the potentially huge inconvenience that can be caused in the event your car breaks down. Whether you are leasing or buying, we have all become dependent on our cars, whether it’s a journey to work, taking the kids to school, visiting family and friends or generally getting from A to B, there is nothing worse or more frustrating than a splattering engine or a dashboard emergency light, your heart sinks, your day is ruined and who you gonna call? Not the Ghost busters, that’s for sure. Maybe a friend if they are available, or a garage with an extortionate recovery fee, breaking down without cover can be an expensive business, particularly if you’re far from home.

What is breakdown cover?
Breakdown cover is essentially an insurance policy that covers the cost of repair or rescue, in the event your car stops working. Meaning you have a trained mechanic on hand who can investigate, diagnose and in most instances, fix your vehicle and get you back on the road. In the event that the fault cannot be fixed by the roadside, your vehicle will be towed to the nearest garage.
Breakdown Cover options?
There is vehicle cover which as the name suggests only covers the registered vehicle or personal cover which covers an individual, so, if you are travelling in a family, friend or colleague’s car, their vehicle is covered by your policy.
There are several service levels, including roadside assistance, home start, national and European cover.
Your vehicle is covered in the event that it breaks down by the roadside, a trained mechanic will come out and attempt to fix the fault, if they are unable to do so, they will tow your vehicle to the nearest garage.
In the event that your vehicle won’t start whilst located at your home address, it is covered.
If the mechanic cannot fix your vehicle by the roadside, they will take you and your passengers to any destination in the UK.
Will provide roadside assistance in Mainland Europe.
For added peace of mind, many of our vehicles at CVS have a manufacturers breakdown cover as standard for the first 3 years, so in the unlikely event of a problem when you are out and about, you can rest assured you are covered.
